Hi I have successfully set up my network to share 2 of my 3 hard drives with my xp laptop with full permissions. However, the 3rd Hard drive will not share with identical settings --- my xp laptop says that i do not have permissions to that drive but those settings work for the other 2.

VIsta / XP connection problems
On my home network with, the Vista PC (Home Premium) is able to see and use the XP PC, and the XP PC can see the Vista PC but it cannot access it. The Vista PC can access drives and files on the XP PC, and can map virtual dirves to the XP. Also, I have printer sharing "on" on the XP, and the Vista PC can print via

Different Vista XP networking problem
My new Vista PC wont work with my Belkin PCI network card, so I created a network where the XP PC connects to the wireless router and the VISTA PC connects to the XP PC. The XP PC was setup to allow internet sharing and everything was dandy; I could connect to the internet from the VISTA PC.

File access-problem in a vista-XP network
I have a Canon MP390 printer attached to my Vista PC with print sharing enabled. I point an XP Pro computer on the network to the Vista PC and it sees the printer. But when it gets to the step of installing the drivers XP reports that the Vista PC does not have the correct version of the driver.

Why is it so difficult to network Vista and XP PCs?
I'm running Vista Home Premium. The husband is running XP. We have a network hub. I'm hooked into it. The cable modem is hooked into it. The husband's computer is hooked into it. All via network connections. He and I both can access the internet so that indicates that the hardware is working.
